Alec Bradley Maxx The Fix Cigar Review
Appearance: 87.5 - This Maxx cigar by Alec Bradley, has a dark, smooth, oily wrapper, with the look of leather. Construction: 90 - Well made wrapper keeps everything in place. Cigar construction remains solid throughout smoke. Would have preferred filler to be a bit more tightly folded, but constructed well. Draw: 84 - Draw a bit airy due to filler being a little loose, as noted in the construction notes above. Burn: 89 - Burn remained even throughout smoke. Tendency for cigar to over heat required us to lengthen the time between puffs. Taste: 91.5 - At first light, one is overpowered by intense coffee and cocoa flavors. Five minutes into the smoke, it starts to mellow slightly, bringing with it a taste of caramel. Coffee, cocoa and caramel share the spotlight, with each flavor taking center stage at various times. With one third of the cigar left to smoke, espresso decides to knock on the door, and from that point on, increases in intensity right till the end, eventually overpowering all earlier flavors. A long, strong finish. CIGAR RATING: 88.4
