Your Cigar Cabinet Humidor
Purchase Guide

Your quest for a cigar cabinet humidor need not be a daunting one.

If you are at the point where you are considering purchasing a cabinet humidor for your premium cigars, you can spend anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars. Do not sacrifice quality for price.

You can be a good consumer by doing some comparison shopping and following the advice we provide. You'll be amazed at the price differences for the same exact cigar cabinet humidor.

Obviously, this is not only going to store your prized cigars, but it is also a piece of furniture that can compliment your surroundings. That being said, make sure you are not taken in by the beauty alone. Functionality must also be a key aspect.

I purposely have a picture of one of my own cabinet humidors at the top of this page. Why you ask?....

To show you my blunder and ensure you don't make the same mistake.

I had made sure the drawer had a good enough seal, and the door sealed well with the aid of magnets. It was also equipped with a cigar humidor humidifier on both the bottom shelf and middle shelf. This would help out nicely as the cigar stock increased. The capacity is 600 cigars.

I covered all my bases, except....the glass!

I originally intended this cabinet humidor for an area of the house that did not get much light. I was aware of the negative affect light has on storing cigars, but I thought I could control it because of the minimal light.

Oops!....

From day one I had a difficult time. My cigars were too dry for my liking. They weren't ruined mind you, they just did not exude the proper amount of oils when touched.

When the time came to move the cigar cabinet to another location, things went from bad to worse. The light was stronger in the new location. This not only dried my cigars even more, but also started to fade the cigars stored in the top drawer. Regulating the environment became impossible.

My solution?....

I now have a beautiful humidor hidden by fabric. I had to cover the glass so I could regulate the humidor, restore my cigars, and keep them from fading.

I let the beauty of the piece cloud my judgement and did not do my due diligence.

Do you think I will ever buy a glass top humidor again? I think not!

Live and learn.

Unless you have money to burn (on the humidor and your cigars), I strongly suggest you steer clear of glass.

Learn by my mistakes, use the information provided, and you will make your cigar cabinet humidor purchase an enjoyable experience.
