Will the Cuba Cigar Be Able to Reclaim It's Throne?

There is no dispute that the Cuba cigar industry in the past has been king of the hill.

The very thought of smoking a cohiba Cuban cigar would invoke thoughts of ecstasy. This is still true for many people.

Is this because the habanos cigar is worthy of such praise, or are some living in the past?

Is it because the grass always seems to be greener in someone else's yard?

Sometimes people want what they can't have. In this case, you cannot legally acquire a Cuban made cigar in the United States.

For those of you who have a "connection", it may interest you to know that over 80% of all cigars sold as Cuban in the U.S. are purported to be counterfeit Cuban cigars!

There are signs that the lack of free enterprise is taking it's toll on the aging Cuban cigar business.

Poorly fertilized fields, lack of modernization, and quality control issues seem to be affecting the quality of what used to be considered by many to be the world's finest cigars.

We can only hope that this will be corrected before it's too late.

Why do you think these other countries are producing such wonderful cigars?

My opinion... the cohiba Cuban cigar has been the benchmark of excellence and something to strive toward.

Competition is key and I hope it will continue to be so.
